The Gupta-Klinsky India Institute at Johns Hopkins University will host the second annual Hopkins India Conference 2026, a flagship convening aimed at advancing “U.S.–India collaboration across research, policy, innovation, education, and global development.”
The conference is scheduled for April 1–2, 2026, at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center in Washington, D.C.
According to conference organizers, this year’s theme, “Ideas, Innovation & Impact for a Shared Future,” underscores India’s expanding role as a global hub of knowledge, creativity, and problem-solving.
The conference will bring together leaders from academia, government, industry, and civil society to examine how India’s scientific, technological, and policy expertise can help address major global challenges, including health, climate change, education, technology, and equitable development.
“Conference sessions will be organized into thematic tracks focused on foundational global priorities, including Technology and Innovation, The Future of Health, Education and Talent Transformation, and India and the World,” noted a statement from the Hopkins India Conference. “Each track will emphasize cross-cutting dialogue and practical recommendations that strengthen cooperation, build capacity, and enhance shared outcomes.”
The first day of the conference, April 1, will feature keynote addresses and panel discussions led by global experts examining India’s evolving role on the international stage. The second day, April 2, will include curated, invite-only roundtable discussions designed to foster deeper engagement, peer learning, and collaboration across key U.S.–India priority areas, the statement added.
“We designed this conference to move beyond conversation to collaboration and action,” said Dr. Amita Gupta, Faculty Co-Chair of the Gupta-Klinsky India Institute and co-founder of the conference. “The expanded structure for 2026 reflects our commitment to convening interdisciplinary expertise and amplifying voices across institutions and sectors.”
Participants from “government, academia, industry, and civil society” are invited to register for the conference. Early bird registration is available through February 28, 2026. Additional information and registration details are available on the conference website. Registration is open at https://indiainstitute.jhu.edu/hopkins-india-conference-2026/.
