The Indian American (IA) Impact Fund has expressed its gratitude to South Asian Americans nationwide for their “extraordinary participation,” in the 2024 election.
Executive Director of IA Impact Fund, Chintan Patel, in a statement, said, “While the outcome of this election is a devastating setback—not only in terms of our values but also for the millions of women and South Asian Americans who hoped to see themselves reflected in our next president—we are deeply proud of the powerful movement that Vice President Kamala Devi Harris inspired, and our community built together.”
Patel noted that this election witnessed an unprecedented wave of “engagement from the South Asian community,” with thousands of first-time donors and volunteers rallying to support Vice President Harris and the vision she advanced.
He emphasized that IA Impact’s campaign has always aimed beyond a single election. It focused on fostering a lasting movement that elevates South Asian American voices and demonstrates their dedication to democracy.
“The energy, passion, and dedication we cultivated will continue to persevere. Impact remains committed to channeling this momentum into advancing our community’s priorities and fighting back against MAGA extremism wherever it emerges,” added Patel. “Our resolve is stronger than ever. The groundwork we’ve laid is just the beginning, and we will carry this energy forward in our ongoing fight for an America that upholds the values of equity, justice, and unity. We are not going back.”
IA Impact mobilized to support the Harris campaign by engaging over 182,000 South Asian voters across four key battleground states, added Patel elaborating that this outreach included multiple points of contact, such as targeted canvassing, phone banking, postcards, direct mail, and WhatsApp messages.
