Pop’s Praiseworthy Popcorn, a Virginia-based artisan popcorn company known for its bold, all-natural flavors and commitment to handcrafted snacks, has been named to the Taste 50 by Taste of the South magazine, an annual list recognizing the 50 best “people, places, and products” shaping Southern food culture.

According to a statement from Pop’s Praiseworthy Popcorn, the recognition, featured in the magazine’s current issue, places the company alongside some of the South’s most celebrated culinary names. The Taste 50 honors individuals, businesses, and products that embody “authenticity, superior quality, and a meaningful contribution” to preserving and advancing Southern food traditions.

“Our mission is simple: joyful snacking for everyone,” said Nicole Brown, founder and CEO of Pop’s Praiseworthy Popcorn. “Being named to the Taste 50 by Taste of the South is more than an award. It’s confirmation that what we’re doing in Purcellville is resonating with people who care deeply about where their food comes from and how it’s made. We are beyond excited.”

The statement said Pop’s Praiseworthy Popcorn is handcrafted in small batches using non-GMO kernels grown by a Virginia farmer in the Shenandoah Valley, along with “all-natural ingredients, and real herbs and spices.”

“No artificial anything,” the statement emphasized, adding that the brand’s signature flavors, “Heavenly Kettle, Luscious Lavender, Red-Hot Rosemary, and Truffle Lemon Pepper,” have earned a loyal following for their distinctive and sophisticated flavor profiles.

The Taste 50 recognition adds to a growing list of national honors for the company. In July 2024, the U.S. Department of State selected Pop’s Praiseworthy Popcorn for the official gift bags distributed during the 75th Anniversary NATO Summit in Washington, D.C. The company has also been recognized as a Top 100 Small Business, the statement said.

Pop’s products are available online at EatPopsPopcorn.com and at select retail locations. The company’s storefront, where visitors can watch fresh kettle batches being made, is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 210 N. 21st Street, Suite F, Purcellville, Virginia.
