Shoreline College President Jack Kahn hosted an inaugural session of the “Glimpses of Incredible India Photo Exhibit” on April 28 at the college, sharing insights from his recent visit to India as part of a delegation organized by the Consulate General of India (CGI) in Seattle. The delegation, comprising participants from the US Pacific Northwest, visited India in March 2026.
The exhibit was formally inaugurated on April 26 at the Consulate premises by US Congressman Adam Smith, along with Dana Ralph, Tom McLeod, and Mark Mullet.
According to a statement from CGI Seattle, the exhibition features curated photographs by Seattle-based photographer Sam Horine. His work captures the “sights and sounds of India,” with a focus on “its people, their daily lives, some UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and cultural landscapes of India.” Horine’s photography has previously appeared in leading international publications, including National Geographic, The New Yorker, The New York Times, and Travel and Leisure.
The photographs were taken during a ten-day delegation visit to India organized by CGI Seattle from March 9 to 18, 2026. The thirteen-member delegation included Kahn and brought together professionals from Washington, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska. Participants represented trade offices, state and local governments, universities, journalism, and the arts.
The exhibition is now traveling across CGI Seattle’s consular jurisdiction, with upcoming stops scheduled at Oregon State University on May 2, South Dakota from May 7 to 8, and Montana State University in Bozeman on May 12. Additional visits to several universities across the US Pacific Northwest are planned in the coming weeks.
According to the statement, the exhibit seeks to highlight the “pluralistic diversity of India, its cultural richness, scenic majesty and the warmth of its people, and aims to inspire more young Americans to consider visiting India and experiencing the magic of Incredible India.”
