Consul General of India in New York, Ambassador Binaya Pradhan, underscored the significant contributions of ITServe Alliance member companies during his inaugural address at the first-ever joint event hosted by the Consulate General of India and ITServe Alliance. The program took place on August 29, 2025, at the Consulate’s Ballroom in New York.
“I see the 2,200 companies that represent ITServe Alliance, mostly with Indian connection, Indian origin, serving this country in a very critical way, and serving India back home with critical services,” said Ambassador Pradhan.
The event, themed “Global Influence of the Indian IT Sector,” was organized by ITServe Alliance in coordination with its New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia chapters. Leaders Baswa Shaker Shamshabad, Subrahmanyam Osuru, and Sitaram Mukkamala spearheaded the effort, while the evening was emceed by Hema Dommaraju and Rajasekhar Borusu.

Calling the IT sector “a critical element, not only in our bilateral trade, but also overall bilateral relationship,” Ambassador Pradhan praised ITServe and its members for driving growth in both the U.S. and Indian economies. “This is a moment of pride for me that we are doing the first event after 15 years of your existence. It should be a more regular affair than such a sporadic thing. I look forward to working very closely with ITServe.”
Ambassador Pradhan, a seasoned diplomat with postings in Moscow, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, and Tanzania, where he helped establish India’s first overseas IIT campus, emphasized the vital role of the Indian IT industry in strengthening U.S.-India ties and highlighted the diaspora’s role in advancing global innovation.

Anju Vallabhaneni, speaking on behalf of ITServe, outlined its mission: “ITServe is focused on three key areas: Protecting the small and medium-sized IT companies here in the United States; Providing a platform to do business at a minimum cost; and Helping our member companies to grow their business.”
He detailed ITServe’s impact in areas such as Indo-U.S. partnership, diaspora engagement, IT services, job creation, scholarship funding, policy advocacy, business networking, regional meetings, bilateral relationships, technological advancement, economic growth, and community engagement.

“At ITServe, we are the voice of prestigious IT companies across the United States,” Vallabhaneni said. “Our respected platform fosters collaboration and initiates measures to protect shared interests and ensure collective success. By connecting with like-minded professionals, you can grow your business and navigate the fast-paced IT landscape with confidence.”
Amar Varada, past president and governing board member, added, “As the largest association of IT services, staffing, and consulting organizations in the U.S., ITServe Alliance is your gateway to growth and collaboration.”
Vinay Mahajan, governing board member and past president, emphasized, “Our robust platform supports networking, knowledge sharing, and advancing business interests, helping you thrive in a competitive market. Join and experience the benefits of being part of a powerful community committed to your success.”
As part of its commitment to advancing STEM education, the New York chapter of ITServe donated $5,000 to CUNY College. The check was presented by chapter leaders alongside Vallabhaneni, Mahajan, Varada, and Ambassador Pradhan to Pramita Sen, Director at CUNY.
“New York Chapter has indeed demonstrated remarkable leadership and innovation within the context of its chapter and beyond. Its ability to pioneer initiatives and consistently drive innovative activities sets it apart as a beacon within its community and serves as an inspiration for other chapters to follow suit,” Ambassador Pradhan noted, adding that the chapter had become a “torchbearer” for ITServe nationwide.

Subrahmanyam Osuru expressed gratitude for the collaboration: “I am very thrilled to stand here in this Historical Hall, and we are very grateful for hosting us graciously this evening and coming forward to foster the strong relationship between our organizations,” he said. “We are the voice of the immigrant majority Indians who are owning Small and Medium IT services and product companies here, empowering local employment, creating innovative products, and becoming a significant part of economic growth in this country and back home in India.”
Representing Philadelphia, Sitaram Mukkamala said, “Our Philadelphia chapter serves as a hub for IT service and consulting firms in the Philadelphia area. With a focus on collaboration, innovation, and excellence, we aim to elevate the local IT industry through networking, knowledge sharing, and professional development opportunities. Join us in shaping the future of IT in Philadelphia!”

Looking ahead, Synergy Director Manish Mehra invited attendees to ITServe’s flagship annual conference: “Synergy 2025, ITServe Alliance’s annual conference, is planned to be held at the Puerto Rico Convention Center, San Juan, PR, from December 4th – 5th, 2025.”
In his keynote address, Anjan Lahiri, CEO of Navikebzand and co-founder of Mindtree, reflected on the evolution of India’s IT sector. He discussed exports, software services, industry leaders like TCS and Infosys, the AI transformation, the .com era, and India’s economic liberalization.
Lahiri underscored the ongoing impact of AI on productivity, noting, “knowledge work is now being transformed like manual labor once was.” Despite disruptions, he emphasized that India’s IT sector remains resilient, innovative, and strategically focused on future growth.
