President-elect Donald Trump has selected Indian American Vivek Ramaswamy for a prominent role in his incoming administration.

In a statement on November 12th, Trump announced Ramaswamy will co-lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), alongside Elon Musk.

“Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies – Essential to the “Save America” Movement,” he noted in a statement. “I look forward to working with Elon and Vivek making changes to the Federal Bureaucracy with an eye on efficiency and, at the same time, making life better for all Americans.”

Additionally, two other Indian Americans are being discussed as potential appointees for roles within the Department of Health and Human Services. They include former Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, and Seema Verma, the former Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services under Trump.

Kash Patel, a former Republican House staffer, is reportedly also being considered for a national security role, according to recent news reports.
