Ambassador Rao Gupta to Lead a U.S. Delegation to UNECE in Geneva

U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues, Dr. Geeta Rao Gupta, will visit Geneva, Switzerland, from October 20-22 to lead the U.S. delegation at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE)’s Regional Review, marking the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (Beijing+30).

According to a State Department statement, Ambassador Rao Gupta will present the U.S. government’s perspective on advancements in women’s and girls’ rights since the 1995 Fourth World Conference on Women and the adoption of the Beijing Platform for Action.

During her visit, she will also hold bilateral meetings with like-minded governments to discuss shared efforts in promoting the rights and status of women and girls worldwide.
