Virgin Atlantic will increase its London Heathrow–Bengaluru services to 13 flights a week from June 1, 2026, edging closer to a double-daily schedule on one of its fastest-growing India routes.

The move, up from the current 11 weekly flights, will run through the summer season and marks another step in the airline’s broader push to expand capacity in India—its largest growth market outside the United States.

The additional frequencies strengthen connectivity between London and Bengaluru, a key global technology hub, while improving onward links to North America. Through its joint venture with Delta Air Lines and Air France-KLM, passengers will gain smoother access to cities such as Toronto, Seattle, San Francisco and New York.

The expanded Bengaluru schedule complements Virgin Atlantic’s existing double-daily services to Delhi and Mumbai, reinforcing its network across India’s top business corridors. The airline is also deepening its partnership with IndiGo, enabling connections to more than 30 domestic destinations including Goa, Amritsar and Jaipur.

Flights on the Bengaluru route will continue to be operated using the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, featuring Upper Class, Premium and Economy cabins.

Virgin Atlantic said it has expanded its India capacity by over 250% since 2019 and now offers more than 500,000 seats annually between the UK and India. As part of service enhancements, the airline is also increasing onboard crew numbers on India routes.

In a parallel development, the carrier will temporarily deploy the Airbus A350 on select London–Mumbai flights between March 28 and May 15, boosting capacity on that route by around 30% during peak travel demand.

Shivani Singh, the airline’s India country manager, said the changes underline Bengaluru’s strategic importance and the airline’s long-term commitment to the Indian market.
