Anita Verma-Lallian, an Indian-origin CEO and Founder of Arizona Land Consulting, a Phoenix-based commercial real estate firm, recently purchased the Los Angeles home of the late actor Matthew Perry for $8.5 million. Perry, the American-Canadian actor best known for his role on Friends, passed away on October 28, 2023, due to a ketamine overdose at the residence.
Verma-Lallian, shared her excitement on her recent Instagram post. “We are so excited to share that we bought a home in Los Angeles earlier this month,” she said explaining that her agent had introduced her to an exceptional “off-market,” property she felt she had to see.
Verma-Lallian went on to state that as soon as she entered the house, she fell in love with its features, especially the view of the Pacific Ocean. She knew instantly it was the right choice and quickly decided to make an offer.
“As a real estate developer myself, I believe every property has a history that we may or may not know about, and every home carries the energy that the current owner brings to it. I am Hindu, and it’s customary to do a blessing and prayer anytime you buy a new home. We were so lucky to have our Panditji from Arizona come to the house to do the blessing,” she added in her post. “We chose to honor the positive aspects of the previous owner’s life, his immense talent, and all the joy he brought to so many people. The decision to purchase the home had nothing to do with the previous owner, just our love of the home.”
She shared that she intends to keep some of the home’s unique design features, noting that the Batman logo in the pool is “definitely staying.” It’s a paradise filled with light and the perfect vacation home for her family, she further conveyed expressing that she can’t wait to create new memories there.
Verma-Lallian serves as Director of Marketing at her father’s company, Vermaland, where she also leads the solar division. She earned her BS in Business Administration with a double major in marketing and finance from the University of Arizona in 2004, and later completed her MBA at the University of Southern California in 2007.
