The American Hindu Coalition (AHC) hosted an indoor watch party for President Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20, 2025, at Dhoom Restaurant in Tysons Corner Mall, Virginia.

Originally planned as an outdoor event, the ceremony moved indoors by authorities due to frigid weather, disappointing many AHC VIP ticket holders. To accommodate the change, AHC quickly organized a special indoor celebration, inviting community members to witness the event together, according to a statement from AHC.

Over 80 attendees gathered to watch the swearing-in ceremony on a giant screen while enjoying delicious food and engaging discussions about the Hindu community’s views on the new administration. Guests at the Dhoom restaurant were delighted to spot notable figures on screen such as Usha Chilukuri, Sundar Pichai, S. Jaishankar, Mukesh Ambani, and Nita Ambani during the celebrations, AHC added.

Indian-American attendee Anjana Mirajkar, according to AHC, said, “Today is a very historic day. It was wonderful to see President Trump. His speech was powerful and inspiring. I am very happy to see that he is bringing the entire nation together, which is so important.”

Another attendee, Shashi Chopra, added, “There are high expectations from President Trump, and we offer him our best wishes to fulfill them and make America prosperous and strong again. This moment also presents an excellent opportunity to strengthen economic and diplomatic relations between the United States—the world’s largest economy and oldest democracy—and India, the fastest-growing major economy and the largest democracy.”

Anil Sharma, an IT entrepreneur, highlighted the benefits of the Trump administration’s policies, noting, “The administration’s emphasis on cultivating a business-friendly environment has been a hallmark. By reducing corporate tax rates, eliminating excessive regulations, and promoting efficiency through initiatives like the DOGE, the administration is driving entrepreneurship and innovation. This creates exciting new opportunities for Indian-American entrepreneurs, especially in federal contracting.”
