New York City Mayor Eric Adams has recognized Bawa Jain with an official citation for his steadfast commitment to global peace, interfaith dialogue, and spiritual leadership.

NYC Deputy Commissioner Dilip Chauhan presented the citation on behalf of Mayor Adams, underscoring the vital role of leadership in fostering stronger communities. Originally awarded during the Diwali celebrations in October 2024, the formal presentation was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.

Chauhan, a dedicated advocate for the South Asian community, emphasized the significance of the honor, stating, “Bawa Jain’s lifelong dedication to peace and interfaith harmony has had a profound impact not just in New York City, but globally. His leadership exemplifies the values of unity, diversity, and mutual respect that we strive to uphold.”

Accepting the honor, Jain reiterated the need for interfaith collaboration and global dialogue to promote peace. “We have no room for the hate that is plaguing our society today,” said Jain. “In these challenging times, it is more essential than ever that we come together to build bridges of understanding and work towards a future founded on peace, respect, and shared humanity.”
