CGI Seattle Hosts First Invest India Business Forum to Boost Trade and AI Investments

The forum provided a platform to explore export opportunities from India to the Greater Seattle region, strengthening economic ties between the two regions.

The Consulate General of India in Seattle organized the first-ever Invest India Business Forum on January 27, 2025, in partnership with Greater Seattle Partners and The Northwest Seaport Alliance at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center in Seattle, Washington.

The event attracted top dignitaries and industry leaders from the Puget Sound region, including Seattle City Council President Sara Nelson, Bellevue Mayor Lynne Robinson, Port of Seattle Commissioner Sam Cho, and Greater Seattle Partners President Brian Surratt.

Key industry experts in Artificial Intelligence, Agri-Tech, Healthcare, Higher Education, and Tourism presented investment opportunities in India, highlighting the country’s growth potential and innovation across these sectors, according to a statement from the Consulate.

The forum featured five unique exhibits, each offering a glimpse into India’s thriving industries:

  • ODOP (One District, One Product) – Showcasing a unique cultural heritage product from each Indian state and union territory.
  • India: The Next Destination for Hi-Tech Investments – Highlighting India’s rapid advancements in AI and emerging technologies.
  • “India Through Tim’s Eyes” Photo Exhibit – A visual journey through India’s iconic tourism sites, captured by renowned photographer Tim Durkan during his September 2024 visit.
  • Indian Wines & Distilleries – Featuring India’s premium wines and spirits, along with B2B meetings between Washington winery producers and Indian distillery representatives.
  • Araku Coffee – Offering samples of India’s finest coffee from Araku Valley, available for tasting.

The Invest India Business Forum (IIBF) aimed to attract Pacific Northwest investments into India’s high-growth sectors, particularly AI, which is projected to contribute $500 billion to India’s economy by 2025. Presentations emphasized the Indian government’s commitment to sectoral development, its skilled workforce, expanding digital infrastructure, and investment-friendly policies.
