The South Asian Business Council of Virginia will host “Empower Virginia 2026” on September 20 at the Hyatt Regency Dulles in Herndon, bringing together business executives, entrepreneurs, investors, government officials and technology professionals from across Virginia and the Washington metropolitan area.

According to an SABCVA statement, the event will focus on business development, entrepreneurship, workforce opportunities, government contracting, leadership, mentorship and economic empowerment. Prime contractors, hiring managers, recruiters and community leaders are also expected to attend.

A central component of the event will be the CEO Leadership Forum, where executives and business leaders will discuss “entrepreneurship, leadership, innovation, technology, business growth and opportunities” for businesses in Virginia.

Participants will have opportunities to network with CEOs, investors, government officials, prime contractors, recruiters, entrepreneurs and other professionals. They will also be able to explore employment, internships, government contracts, investments, partnerships, business development, mentorship and career opportunities.

Empower Virginia 2026 will also include a startup pitch competition, allowing selected entrepreneurs to present their businesses and ideas to investors, industry professionals and experienced business leaders. The competition is intended to provide participants with greater visibility, professional feedback, mentorship and business connections.

SABCVA will also highlight its 1,000 Internship Mission, an initiative aimed at creating 1,000 internship and professional development opportunities for students, recent graduates and emerging professionals.

The initiative will concentrate on several high-demand and career-development fields, including artificial intelligence and emerging technology, cybersecurity, software development, leadership, business and entrepreneurship, professional development, and workforce readiness.

The effort builds on SABCVA’s recent 100+ Summer Internship Program, which offered students and young professionals hands-on learning, mentorship and professional development opportunities in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

“SABCVA’s goal is to connect young professionals with experienced leaders, employers, mentors, entrepreneurs and business professionals who can help them build successful careers and businesses,” the statement added. “The 1,000 Internship Mission represents a long-term commitment to expanding access to internships, mentorship and professional development opportunities across Virginia.”
