The Avadhoota Datta Peetham in Mysore, India, has issued a statement clarifying that it has no formal collaboration with any spiritual or religious organization worldwide, following social media posts suggesting otherwise.
“It has come to the attention of Avadhoota Datta Peetham that certain posts and publications circulating on social media suggest a collaboration, alliance, or formal association between Avadhoota Datta Peetham and other spiritual or religious organizations,” the Peetham said in a statement. It added that it wished to “state, clearly and unequivocally,” that it has no collaboration, partnership, affiliation, MOU, or institutional association of any kind with any spiritual or religious institution anywhere in the world.
“Avadhoota Datta Peetham functions purely under the divine guidance and blessings of its Peethadhipatis, Parama Pujya Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji and Pujya Sri Datta Vijayananda Teertha Swamiji,” the statement said. It added that all of the Peetham’s “spiritual, charitable, cultural, humanitarian, and educational” activities are conducted solely under their direction, in keeping with the sacred tradition of Sri Dattatreya Swamy.
The statement noted that, in accordance with the traditions of Sanatana Dharma, visitors from diverse backgrounds, including members of various organizations, are welcomed to receive Darshana of “Ubhaya Swamijis.”
The Datta Peetham emphasized, “Such courtesies of Darshana do not constitute, and should not be construed as any endorsement, collaboration, or association between Avadhoota Datta Peetham and any other institution.”
The statement also urged devotees and the public to rely exclusively on official communications issued through Avadhoota Datta Peetham’s authorized channels, including www.dattapeetham.org, for accurate information about the Peetham and its activities.
