In recognition of the Freedom 250 initiative marking the 250th anniversary of American independence, Lead America Inc. and the Interfaith Leadership Alliance of Washington, D.C., have announced the “America Freedom 250 Liberty Charity Gala,” scheduled for July 19, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Southern Asian Church in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Organized by the United National Diversity Coalition of America, the event is centered around the theme, “Soul of America,” and guided by the motto, “Unity in Diversity.” The gala serves as a “vibrant and patriotic tribute” to two and a half centuries of freedom and remarkable achievement, according to the organizers.

Freedom Gala Chair and Lead America President Rajesh Gooty said, “This is historic — a monumental milestone in American history that calls for an exceptional celebration of life, liberty, freedom, unity, resilience, and shared progress. We warmly invite all organizations, faith communities, and leaders to join hands with us in this grand celebration.”

Gooty said the nation’s diverse communities have made significant contributions to the country’s growth through “hard work, innovation, entrepreneurial spirit, committed public service, and cultural enrichment.”

“Together, in the true spirit of Unity in Diversity, we together create a mesmerizing evening that honors freedom and strengthens our bonds of this epoch shared American identity, the very soul of America,” he added.

According to the organizers, the gala is centered on the theme “Soul of America” and guided by the motto “Unity in Diversity.” They describe the event as a patriotic tribute to 250 years of American freedom and achievement.

The organizers also highlighted the role of Gala Co-Chair Elisha Pulavarti, describing him as a key leader for the initiative. According to the statement, Pulavarti brings experience in community engagement and social advocacy, helping foster collaboration among civic organizations, volunteers, and regional partners.

The statement also noted Gooty’s leadership in advocating for the first Diwali commemorative stamp and the first Hindu Diwali holiday in Loudoun County, as well as efforts supporting the establishment of Hindu Heritage Month in the Commonwealth of Virginia. It noted, Gooty’s work promoting “youth leadership, interfaith harmony, education, and equitable opportunity” has helped shape the vision for the Freedom 250 gala.

The Lead America Executive Council includes Dr. Srilekha Palle, Vice Chair for the Interfaith Leadership Alliance; Indrani Davaluri, Vice Chair for Heritage and Culture; and Dr. Harsha Rajasimha, Vice Chair for Media and Public Relations.

The Lead America Advisory Council includes Chief Patron Dr. Bharat Barai, Grand Patron Dr. Suresh C. Gupta, Patron Mohinder Gulati, Advisor Sant Gupta, and Chairman Dr. Krishna Madiraju.

South Asian Herald and India Abroad are serving as media partners, while the Indo US Organization for Rare Diseases is the strategic partner for the event.

According to the organizers, the gala is expected to draw several elected officials and community leaders, including U.S. Representative Suhas Subramanyam, Leesburg Mayor Kelly Burk, U.S. Shadow Senator Ankit Jain, Loudoun County Treasurer Henry C. Eickelberg, and former Leesburg Councilman Ron Campbell.

The program will include live musical performances, instrumental presentations, and dance performances by the Natyamargam Dance School.

An awards ceremony is also planned to recognize regional and national leaders for contributions to community building, leadership development, and youth empowerment.

“This landmark gathering serves as a powerful nexus of solidarity, bringing together influential voices from government, business, technology, academia, faith communities, and civil society to engage in cross-sector dialogue and collectively champion America’s founding ideals of life, liberty and freedom,” added the statement.
