On the occasion of Ekta Diwas, National Unity Day, the Indian Consulate in Seattle unveiled a special wall installation honoring the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at its new chancery premises on October 31, 2025, in Seattle, Washington.

The centerpiece, titled the “Wall of Unity,” features a scenic depiction of the world’s tallest statue, the Statue of Unity, set against the picturesque backdrop of the Narmada River Valley in Kevadia, Gujarat. The installation not only symbolizes India’s strength in unity and diversity but also aims to highlight the country’s tourism potential, particularly the attractions of Kevadia, for travelers from the U.S. Pacific Northwest.
Measuring 30 feet by 14 feet, the Wall of Unity occupies a prominent place within the consulate’s visitors and public-interaction area. Adjacent to it is a curated display of One District One Product (ODOP) exhibits, representing products from all 28 Indian states — offering guests a vibrant glimpse into India’s cultural and artisanal diversity.

The newly inaugurated chancery, equipped with a multipurpose hall, welcomes around 200 visitors each month, including local dignitaries, business leaders, community representatives, consular applicants, and members of the Indian-American diaspora.
As part of the unveiling ceremony, the Wall of Unity was opened for public viewing. The Consul General also administered the “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge” to all officials present at the event, reaffirming the Consulate’s commitment to national unity and collective strength.
