Mango Tasting Event by Indian Consulate in Seattle:
In a similar initiative aimed at enhancing trade and market access, the Consulate General of India in Seattle, in collaboration with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), hosted a curated “Flavors of Indian Mangoes” tasting event on July 10, 2025.
This exclusive event featured a selection of five premium Indian mango varieties, Dasheri, Chausa, Langra, Mallika, and Totapuri, presented to leading importers and select media professionals in Seattle.

Special guests included Washington State Attorney General Nick Brown, State Senator Manka Dhingra, and Seattle Port Commissioner Sam Cho, among others, who praised the mangoes’ distinctive aroma, texture, and sweetness, according to a statement from CGI Seattle.
In addition to the tasting, industry experts delivered presentations highlighting how “Mango – The King of Fruits” holds a special place in Indian culture and family traditions. Notably, Indian mango exports to the United States grew by 19 per cent in 2024, reinforcing the U.S. as a key export destination.

As part of the broader promotional efforts, a separate Indian Food Festival and Mango Promotion was held in Redmond on July 9, which included a dedicated mango tasting session. Attendees included Washington State Representative Alex Ybarra, along with prominent members of the media and Indian American community.
On the sidelines of the events, exporters from India held meetings with U.S. retail representatives to explore opportunities for expanding the availability of premium Indian mangoes in the Pacific Northwest market.
