Srimati Karuna is the Director of the Gandhi Memorial Center since 2006. She began her dedicated service to the effort and ideals of the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Foundation, Inc. in 1998. (The Foundation was incorporated in Washington, DC by Swami Premananda in 1959.) The Gandhi Memorial Center houses the headquarters of the Foundation and regularly presents educational programs on the philosophy and life message of Mahatma Gandhi as well as the cultural heritage of South Asia. Srimati Karuna received all her education from American University: B.A. in International Relations, M.A. in International Peace and Conflict Resolution and M.A. in Teaching. She is the author of Lights on the Path, Prayer Beads and Gandhi’s Steadfast Yoga.
