Ajay Devgn joins Sony Entertainment Television’s iconic crime franchise, Crime Patrol, as the special host of its latest edition, Crime Patrol: Crime Ka Current Season, which premiered on August 31, on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.
In this new role, Devgn will take viewers through stories inspired by real crime cases. Talking about his association with the show, Devgn says, “What I find most intriguing about the show is that the stories are inspired by real cases. Some of them are shocking because they show you the kind of things that can happen in the world around us, sometimes involving people you would never expect.”
At the same time, he noted “You also see the effort and persistence that goes into solving these cases. For me, the show is not just about telling compelling stories. It can also be an eye-opener for the audience. It makes you more aware, more cautious, and reminds you not to trust anyone blindly. That awareness is important for everyone — youngsters, families and older audiences alike.”
Known for portraying some of Hindi cinema’s most memorable characters, Devgn brings his distinctive presence to television in a role that places him at the heart of one of the country’s most recognized crime franchises.
Devgn, as we all know, has played a cop multiple times, the most famous among them being the Singham franchise (with cameos in Simmba and Sooryavanshi in the same role as Bajirao Singham. He has also portrayed a police officer in GangaaJal, besides in Insaan, Masti and Naajayaz. He also played a havildar (constable) in Tango Charlie and a cop-gone-wrong in Khakee.
