After Raazi, a Junglee Pictures-Meghna Gulzar project will always be anticipated. Daayra is their next collaboration and features the unique combo of Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran, and the makers have just unveiled what they term as a “power-packed poster” to give audiences a closer look at the world of the crime thriller.
With the trailer set to arrive on August 31, the poster leaves behind a trail of questions about what connects the two characters, while revealing just enough to spark curiosity around the story.
Khan and Sukumaran are standing back-to-back, surrounded by layers of police tape and an obscured face in the background, immediately creating intrigue. It hints at two distinct perspectives, leaving audiences to wonder what connects them and what lies beyond the line. The poster thus creates a clear divide between what is visible and what remains hidden. As the pieces begin to come together, Daayra promises a gripping story where truth, justice and accountability intersect. It releases in cinemas on September 18.
The film marks the first collaboration between Junglee Pictures and Pen Studios, while reuniting Meghna Gulzar with Junglee Pictures for the third time after Talvar and Raazi. While Talvar was claimed to be a success, Raazi was a hit and a 100 crore-plus grosser.
Like those films, Daayra is inspired by true events, and is written by Yash Keswani, Sima Agarwal and Meghna Gulzar.
Interestingly, the film is devoid of songs, while Gulzar’s debut film, the musical Filhaal, had music by Anu Malik and her other films had songs by Pritam, Vishal Bhardwaj and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
