The South Asian Business Council of Virginia, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, announced that it has completed interviews for 100 internship candidates, describing the effort as one of the region’s most “impactful community-led workforce development initiatives.”
According to a statement from the organization, the interview sessions were hosted in Loudoun County and brought together students, recent graduates, and mid-career professionals seeking opportunities in Artificial Intelligence, Mobile Development, Cybersecurity, and other emerging technology fields. SABCVA said the initiative reflects its growing focus on “skills training, workforce readiness, and economic empowerment.”

The program began as a pilot offering 12 internships in Mobile Development and soon expanded to 23 positions in Artificial Intelligence. Interviewing 100 candidates in a single phase, the organization noted, signals “rapid growth, strong community trust, and the widening reach of SABCVA’s mission.”
“This truly feels like a dream come true,” said Mansoor Qureshi, chair of SABCVA. “Seeing so many talented individuals eager to build their futures reinforces why this work matters. When vision, dedication, and community support come together, real transformation happens—and this is only the beginning.”
Building on the current phase, SABCVA announced plans to launch 1,000 additional internships in the coming stages, aiming to broaden access to structured career pathways across Virginia and potentially beyond.
The organization said the initiative was made possible through the leadership and efforts of its advisors, committee members, volunteers, and community partners. It expressed appreciation to Nupur Panjabi of Anna Sudha Community Kitchens for providing facilities and ongoing support that facilitated the interview sessions.
SABCVA also acknowledged the contributions of key leaders and advisors, including Sajani Rao, Principal Advisor of the Women Empowerment Committee; Harsha Rao, Chair of the Technology Committee; Sadiq Ahmed, Chair of the AI Committee; Vivek Rao, Principal Advisor of the AI Committee; Ranbir Bhutani, Principal Advisor for Cybersecurity; Iman Hussain, Advisor to the Entrepreneur Committee; Ayesha Heng, Strategic Director; and Mazhar Ahson, Senior Community Supporter.

In addition, the organization thanked volunteers and community supporters such as Dipiti Rach, Ritu Desai, Sunila Bali, Kirit Bhai, Sonal Bhai, Archana, Rohini Khera, Maydeen Yousuf, and Imran Shreef, among others.
SABCVA also recognized the encouragement of public leaders supporting inclusive workforce development, including Henry C. Eickelberg, Treasurer of Loudoun County, Virginia; Juan Pablo Segura, former Secretary of Trade and Commerce for the Commonwealth of Virginia; and Congressman Suhas Subramanyam of Virginia.
Their support, the organization said, reinforces the importance of creating opportunities that “empower individuals and strengthen the regional economy.”
“Today wasn’t just about interviews—it was about opening doors,” Qureshi said while outlining future initiatives. “We’re creating opportunities that transform lives, strengthen communities, and empower the next generation of leaders.”
