The Punjabi Cultural Society of Chicago (PCS) participated in the 91st annual Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade, continuing a tradition it began in 2005. The parade, recognized as the second largest televised Thanksgiving parade in the United States, draws millions of viewers nationwide and thousands of spectators who line State Street each year to welcome the holiday season.
According to PCS, the organization showcased a unique medical-themed float celebrating healthcare heroes and recognizing the dedication of community healthcare workers, along with vibrant Punjabi cultural performances presented on a mainstream platform.
At the parade, PCS unveiled its float decorated with symbolic medical elements and bright colors. The display featured PCS volunteers and healthcare professionals in authentic medical attire, reflecting the essential role of medicine and public health in community wellbeing.
PCS noted that the tribute underscores its commitment to health advocacy and honors the tireless service of doctors, nurses, and first responders.
“The Punjabi Cultural Society of Chicago is honored to be part of the 91st annual Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade, celebrating both heritage and healthcare. Through its medical-themed float and vibrant performances, PCS helps unite Chicago’s communities, ushering in the holidays with joy, pride, and cultural exchange,” said PCS Chairman, Dr. Param Puneet Singh.
