US President Donald Trump, bipartisan congressional leaders, and corporate executives have congratulated India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 4,399 consecutive days in office, on June 10, 2026, making history as the longest serving Prime Minister in Indian history.
First elected in 2014, PM Modi’s unbroken tenure of 4,399 days in office, surpassed the record of first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
“Congratulations to my friend, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on becoming India’s longest-serving Prime Minister – And a Great One he is! He is a strong, healthy, and wise man, and will have many years of Greatness and Success ahead of him,” said President Trump.
In response to his wish, PM Modi expressed, “Thank you, President Trump, for your warm wishes. I look forward to working with you to further advance the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, for the benefit of both our nations and the world.”
US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, stated “Congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister,” adding “This achievement is a powerful testament to his decades of dedicated public service and leadership! Wishing him all the best.”
Governor Tate Reeves said, “Mississippi is proud of our Indian-American community and growing economic relationship with India.”
Praising PM Modi’s leadership, House Foreign Affairs Committee noted “India continues to be a critical partner in the Indo-Pacific,” while House Republicans, hailed, “Great to see democracy thrive.”
Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith noted, “As a leading agricultural state, Mississippi understands the value of strong international partnerships, particularly when it involves offering what we produce to the world. I look forward to strengthened trade and economic ties between our two nations,” congratulating PM Modi.
Senator Roger Wicker said as the world’s largest democracy, India is a “critical partner” in a free and open Indo-Pacific. “Mississippi values our strong U.S.-India partnership,” he said praising PM Modi.
Senator John Cornyn emphasized “4,399 days of leadership earned through the trust of 1.4 billion people across three democratic mandates.” From lifting 250 million out of poverty to making India the world’s fastest-growing major economy, PM Modi’s tenure has been nothing short of “transformational,” he said adding “The US-India partnership has never been stronger.”
Sen. Ted Cruz, said India is the world’s largest democracy, and the U.S.-India alliance is a critical to the national security of both countries. “I congratulate Prime Minister Modi on becoming India’s longest-serving Prime Minister. This milestone is a testament to his political acumen and leadership,” he added.
Congratulating PM Modi, Senator Rick Scott said, throughout his 12 years in office, PM Modi has shown that he is committed to a strong working security partnership with America and their “great shared ally” Israel. “We look forward to building on that success and cooperation for years to come,” he added.
