An event titled “The Heart of Yoga,” organized by ALotusInTheMud.com in association with the Consulate General of India in New York, is set to bring together wellness, spirituality, culture, and community on June 14 at the Pt. Jasraj Auditorium of Vedic Heritage Hanuman Mandir in Hempstead, New York.

According to a statement from the organizers, the celebration of the International Day of Yoga will feature a diverse program that includes a multifaith panel discussion on the devotional path to God and a session on Buddhist meditation for world peace.

Parveen Chopra, founder and editor of Lotus web magazine, said the event is designed to offer a different perspective on Yoga Day celebrations.

“Since other Yoga Day events focus on asanas,” Chopra said he is presenting an “immersive devotional program mix,” Chopra said.
