The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center (NMACC) has announced that its highly anticipated India Weekend in New York, originally scheduled for September 12-14, 2025, has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.
“It is with deep regret that we share that the NMACC India Weekend in New York, scheduled to open on September 12, 2025, has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances,” NMACC stated in an official announcement. The organization confirmed that all guests who purchased tickets will receive a full refund.
According to the statement, the event had been in preparation for months, with teams working alongside some of India’s most celebrated artists to bring the nation’s cultural richness and creativity to New York. “Every detail was crafted with love, and many of you have been part of this journey with us,” the Center noted. “We were eagerly looking forward to experiencing the magic together, which makes this decision all the more difficult.”
Founder and Chairperson of NMACC, Nita Ambani, emphasized the project’s importance to her vision for global cultural exchange. “The NMACC India Weekend is a dream very close to my heart – a celebration of Indian culture on the global stage. This is not a cancellation, only a pause, and we remain fully committed to bringing the NMACC experience to New York at a later date,” she said.
Expressing gratitude to the artists, sponsors, partners, and supporters who have stood by the initiative, Ambani added, “NMACC remains dedicated to our vision of bringing the best of the world to India and showcasing the best of India to the world. We will return with renewed joy, pride, and purpose.”
Reflecting on her broader vision for NMACC, Ambani highlighted the Center’s role as both a cultural hub and a tribute to India’s artistic legacy.
“With immense joy, I am delighted to present to you the realization of a life-long dream, the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre,” she noted in her founder’s statement in the center’s website. “The NMACC is a space that hopes to bind the community through the common thread of the arts. It is a tribute to India’s glorious legacy, traditions, and heritage.”
Envisioned as an inclusive platform for performers, creators, and audiences alike, NMACC combines world-class infrastructure with dynamic programming to make the arts more accessible. The initiative, developed over several years with the support of Ambani’s daughter Isha and their team, aims to highlight the finest expressions of Indian arts and culture while fostering global exchange, added the website.
