Zee TV has announced the return of the OG music reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, unveiling a new season that brings to life ‘Hindustan Ka Sangeetsthan’ a world dedicated to the celebration of music and giving a first glimpse into Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2026 through a Virtual Reality experience showcasing its spectacular new set. The show has premiered on 19th September, every weekend on Zee TV and Zee 5 Global.
Celebrating nearly three decades of a legacy built on authentic music and exceptional talent, the new season takes the experience beyond a conventional singing reality show with a spectacular 360° stage, 100-plus musicians and an expansive chorus ensemble, creating the scale and energy of a live concert on television, while bringing the richness of Indian musical traditions to the forefront.
For three decades, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa has remained a trusted platform for discovering, nurturing and celebrating musical talent. What has made the property endure is its unwavering focus on real music and authentic voices, even as the format has evolved with changing audiences. Building on this legacy, Zee TV is now creating an entire world dedicated to music, where every element, from the sound and musicianship to the visual experience, comes together to celebrate the art form.
This season celebrates the tradition of music from different parts of the country through performances, creating a richer expression of Indian music while staying true to its soul.
The season brings together Shankar Mahadevan, Kumar Sanu, Neeti Mohan and Javed Ali as its musical Gurus, bringing decades of experience across diverse musical journeys to the stage. Their role extends beyond evaluating performances, as they share their knowledge and perspective with the contestants through the course of the competition. Shreyas Talpade will host the season.

It is widely known that singers like Shreya Ghoshal were also discovered by this show. Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali watched her on the show and called her to his office. Said Bhansali to me then, “Some song reverberates in my head every day. On that day, it was Lata Mangeshkar’s Jeevan dor tumhi sang baandhifrom Sati Savitri (1964), composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal and written by Bharat Vyas. When Shreya came to meet me, I asked her to sing any song of Lata-ji and she coincidentally sang this very song beautifully! That clinched it and she became the voice of Paro (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) in my Devdas.”
Kunal Ganjawala, best known for Bheege honth tere (Murder), Sanjeevani Bhelande, winner of the very first season in 1995, famous for Chori chori jab nazrein mili from Kareeb, Bela Shende, a National award-winning playback singer who won the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa title in 1998 and sang for films like Paheli and Jodhaa Akbarand Kamal Khan (O o jaanejaana from Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya) are among others who came into the limelight with this show.
Over the decades, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Ek Main Aur Ek Tu, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Popular Choice Awards, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs International, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge USA and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Mega Challenge were its multiple variations and spin-offs. The last was made to celebrate the 1000th episode and notable Indian singers and musicians were roped in to judge each of the episodes.
Due to its continued popularity, the show has been remade in Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, Punjabi, Tamil, Odia, Telugu, Bhojpuri and Malayalam.
And down various reasons, the judges have included Naushad, O.P. Nayyar, Khayyam, Usha Khanna, Kalyanji-Anandji, (Laxmikant-) Pyarelal, Manna Dey, Mahendra Kapoor, S.P. Balasubramaniam and Jagjit Singh down to the newest names on the block.
