Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu will make a state visit to Pakistan from October 20-22, 2026, for talks aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation, according to a statement from his office.
The visit, at the invitation of Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, will include meetings with Sharif, former Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and other senior officials.
Muizzu and Sharif will hold official talks on relations between the two countries. Following their discussions, the leaders will witness the exchange of several memoranda of understanding covering various areas of cooperation.
According to the statement, the trip will mark the first high-level visit between the two countries in a decade. It also comes as the Maldives and Pakistan mark 60 years of diplomatic relations, established on July 26, 1966.
