The grand concluding ceremony of Hindi Pakhwada 2026, organized by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), witnessed an inspiring participation of international students from around 30 countries studying in India under ICCR scholarship programmes.
Expressing their deep emotional connection with India, the students said, “India lives in our hearts. India has given us not only education, but also a deeper understanding of its culture, music, art, Yoga, language and human values.”
ICCR Director General Nandini Singla said that Hindi is an important medium for taking India’s cultural heritage, values and traditions to the world. The participation of international students reflects the growing global connect of the Hindi language.
ICCR Additional Director General Rajesh Ranjan said that international students expressing their experiences in Hindi is a meaningful example of the growing cultural engagement between India and the world.
The ceremony featured the participation of seven Padma Shri awardees from diverse fields including art, culture, music, Hindi and medicine. The distinguished personalities interacted with the international students and shared their experiences and words of guidance.
During Hindi Pakhwada, various competitions were organized for officials, employees and international students. All winning participants were felicitated with awards and certificates during the concluding ceremony.
The event highlighted Hindi as a growing global language and showcased India’s cultural diplomacy by bringing together students from different parts of the world on a common platform of language, culture and shared experiences.
