Etihad Airways will launch a seasonal four-times-weekly service between Abu Dhabi and Dhaka from June 26 to October 24, aiming to strengthen trade, cargo movement and passenger connectivity between the UAE and Bangladesh.
The service will operate to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport using a Boeing 777 aircraft configured with 28 business class and 374 economy seats, offering significant belly hold cargo capacity alongside passenger travel.
The airline said the move responds to sustained demand across both cargo and passenger segments on a route considered vital for trade, business travel and family connections. Abu Dhabi is expected to serve as a key transit hub, linking Bangladesh to markets across the Middle East, Europe and North America.
Chief Executive Officer Antonoaldo Neves said Dhaka is a strategically important market, with the new service allowing the airline to deploy capacity in line with demand while strengthening links between Bangladesh, the UAE and global markets.
The route is expected to support export-driven sectors such as textiles and garments, a cornerstone of Bangladesh’s economy, by enabling faster and more reliable cargo movement. It will also cater to one of the world’s largest Bangladeshi diaspora communities based in the UAE, while improving onward connections for travelers from the United Kingdom, Italy and North America.
Flights from Abu Dhabi (EY382) will depart at 2200 hrs, arriving in Dhaka at 0450 hrs on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The return service (EY383) will leave Dhaka at 2135 hrs, arriving in Abu Dhabi at 0040 hrs on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The Dhaka launch forms part of Etihad’s broader strategy to rebuild and expand its global network with capacity aligned to market demand.
