The India Association of Greater Boston (IAGB) has announced the return of its flagship Republic Day Mela, a full-day celebration of Indian culture, creativity, and community spirit. The event will take place on January 24, 2026, from 12:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Burlington High School.

This year’s theme, “India in Harmony – The Five Elements,” will be highlighted through a series of performances and competitions. According to IAGB, the Republic Day Cultural Showcase will present dance performances interpreting earth, water, fire, air, and space through classical, folk, and contemporary styles. The organization said this immersive segment aims to reflect India’s cultural diversity and the unifying power of artistic expression.

IAGB noted that the deadline for entry submissions is December 22, 2025, and registration is now open via QR code or through the organization’s website at www.iagb.org.

The association is inviting participants of all ages to join eight open competitions designed to inspire creativity and community engagement. Limited spots are available, and early registration is recommended. Competitions include Art, Antakshari, Carrom, Chess, Desi Fusion, Math Quiz, Rangoli, and Shark Tank.

“We’re thrilled to open entries for this year’s Republic Day celebration,” said IAGB President Nilesh Agrawal. “Whether you’re dancing, competing, or cheering from the audience, your presence helps us build a vibrant, inclusive community rooted in shared heritage and harmony.”

Vice President Deepak Garg added, “I’m excited to see our community come together through the language of dance and cultural expression. This event is a beautiful reminder of how tradition and creativity can unite us all.”

“Our team is working hard to ensure a seamless and joyful experience for every participant,” said Secretary Asha Thotangare. “We welcome everyone to be part of this celebration and make lasting memories.”

“This event is a testament to the power of collaboration and community spirit,” said Treasurer Vijay Ejenkar. “We’re proud to support an initiative that brings people together through talent, culture, and shared values.”
