U.S. Representative Suhas Subramanyam (VA-10), Ranking Member of the Military and Foreign Affairs Oversight Subcommittee, said the February 23 arrest of Peter Mandelson represents progress toward accountability for survivors of Jeffrey Epstein.
In a statement issued February 23, Rep. Subramanyam said, “Today’s arrest of Peter Mandelson is another step towards justice for Epstein survivors. I’ve asked him to come before the Oversight Committee and that offer still stands. We’re starting to see movement from our Oversight investigation.”
Subramanyam noted that much of the recent accountability in the broader Epstein matter has occurred outside the United States, referencing the arrest of a former Prince and now a former Ambassador in the United Kingdom within the past week.
“We cannot complete a full investigation without the DOJ following the law and releasing all of the files,” he added.
Rep. Subramanyam and Robert Garcia, Ranking Member of the House Oversight Committee, have formally called on Lord Peter Mandelson to submit to questioning in connection with the Committee’s ongoing investigation into Jeffrey Epstein.
The lawmakers previously made a similar request in November to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
