Yash turns up the intensity as Ravana in a powerful new reveal from Ramayana: Rise of a Legend, unveiled by the makers on Dussehra. Titled Rise of Asura in Hindi, the musical unit showcases Yash in a commanding avatar, with his imposing screen presence, fierce expressions and striking transformation bringing the mighty ruler of Lanka into focus. The reveal comes as the film’s advance bookings open across India on Dussehra, October 20, ahead of its worldwide theatrical release on November 5.

Drawing from Ravana’s devotion to Lord Shiva, the sequence taps into the mythology surrounding the Shiva Tandav Stotram, celebrated for its powerful rhythm and intensity. Yash’s portrayal brings together Ravana’s strength, devotion and formidable persona, offering a glimpse into the scale and vision behind one of Indian mythology’s most iconic characters. With the Dussehra reveal arriving on a festival associated with Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana, the timing adds another layer of significance to the unveiling.

The Hindi unit features vocals by Vishal Dadlani, lyrics by Dr Kumar Vishwas, and music supervision by A.R. Ameen and Hiral Viradia. The Tamil version features vocals by Anirudh Ravichander and G. V. Prakash Kumar, while the units are titled Ravana Tandava in Kannada and Ravana Tandavam in Tamil and Telugu. With Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Ramayana brings two major stars together in a grand retelling of the epic.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, Ramayana is envisioned as a two-part cinematic epic. Part 2 will follow in Diwali 2027, with the film set to release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. The film will also release in IMAX, with Sony Pictures handling global distribution outside India and Dharma Productions distributing it in the Hindi-speaking market.
