Indian American entrepreneur Sunil Singh was honored on May 19, 2025, by Congressman Jonathan Jackson on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. in recognition of his outstanding contributions to underserved communities.

The tribute took place as part of celebrations for Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, acknowledging the enduring legacy, traditions, and impact of the AAPI community in the United States.

“I rise to recognize and celebrate an inspiring individual whose life’s work reflects the very values we uplift during this month: service, leadership, resilience, and the pursuit of opportunity for all,” stated Congressman Jackson in a Congressional Record entry.

“I am very honored to have received this recognition,” Singh told South Asian Herald.

“It is with great pride and deep appreciation that I honor Sunil Singh in the congressional record for his unwavering dedication to community empowerment and social justice.”

The record described Singh as a “dedicated leader, compassionate advocate, and visionary entrepreneur” whose initiatives have brought meaningful change to underserved populations, particularly in the greater Chicago area.

Highlighting the breadth of his work, the entry noted, “Whether in business, civic advocacy, or nonprofit engagement, Sunil Singh is driven by a profound sense of responsibility to uplift those whose voices are often unheard.”

As the founder and supporter of businesses that emphasize local hiring and culturally competent services, Singh has promoted economic models that place the community at their core. His ventures go beyond generating revenue; they also create pathways to dignity and self-sufficiency, especially for immigrant and minority communities.

The record emphasized that Singh’s philosophy demonstrates how economic development and equity are not mutually exclusive, but rather, deeply interconnected.

“His dedication extends far beyond the private sector. Mr. Singh is also deeply involved in nonprofit initiatives that advance education, promote civic engagement, and support the integration of immigrants,” it stated. “He recognizes that thriving communities depend not only on economic opportunities but also on access to knowledge, representation, and a sense of belonging. His programs equip young people with the tools they need to succeed and empower families to find their place and voice within our democracy.”

The Congressional Record further highlighted Singh’s efforts to bridge racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic divides, noting his work to build strong coalitions based on mutual respect and shared purpose. Through partnerships with local governments, community organizations, and neighborhood leaders, Singh has advocated for policies that yield tangible improvements in quality of life.

The tribute underscored Singh’s wide respect, not only for his professional accomplishments but for his character, integrity, humility, and profound empathy.

“His work reminds us that grassroots leadership is the foundation of any strong and just society,” according to the Record.
