The Foundation of Indian Americans (FIA) – New England commemorated Veterans Day with a community-wide celebration in partnership with American Legion Post 234 and Boros Care for Troops (BC4T) at the American Legion Post in Northborough, Massachusetts, on November 9, 2025. The event paid tribute to U.S. veterans through a parade, a recognition ceremony, and the launch of FIA’s New England Veterans Food Drive.

The day began with FIA members joining the annual Veterans Day Parade, where a large American flag was proudly displayed along Main Street. The parade featured World War II Army vehicles, local schoolchildren, families, and community groups marching together in honor of the nation’s service members, according to a statement from FIA.

Abhishek Singh, president of FIA New England, expressed his appreciation to the veterans and BC4T team for their dedication and collaboration.

“It is an honor for FIA to stand alongside our veterans and support them through this food drive. We thank BC4T and American Legion Post 234 for this collaboration that brings our communities closer in gratitude and service,” Singh said.

Karen Brewster, president of BC4T, praised FIA New England’s initiative in supporting veterans and promoting community service.

“FIA’s efforts show the power of community and compassion. We deeply appreciate their dedication to helping our veterans,” Brewster noted.

The event also offered children a chance to interact directly with World War II veterans, gaining insight into their service and sacrifices. The FIA New England Veterans Food Drive will continue in the coming weeks, collecting non-perishable food items for the BC4T Veterans Pantry to benefit veterans and their families across the region.
