The Consulate General of India in Houston hosted a closed-door roundtable on “Global Energy Outlook 2026” in collaboration with the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF), on February 4, 2026, in Houston, Texas.
According to the Consulate, Dr. Prasanna V. Joshi, Corporate Director, Economics and Energy at ExxonMobil, “presented a powerful long-term view of global demand, supply and technology shifts, setting the stage for a candid conversation on where the world is headed over the next 25 years.”

Setting the context for the discussions, Consul General D. C. Manjunath highlighted “India’s growing demand for energy to sustain the growth of its economy and the importance of sustained dialogue and cooperation in the evolving global energy landscape.”
The Consulate noted that over 30 senior leaders from across the energy ecosystem, including ExxonMobil, Chevron, Honeywell, GAIL, L&T, Weatherford, LanzaTech, S&P Global, McKinsey, and SPE, participated in what it described as a “high signal exchange” on balancing “energy security with energy transition, reducing carbon footprints, and designing smarter public policy and market driven solutions.”

India’s energy trajectory was a central focus of the dialogue, the Consulate said, with discussions examining how a fast-growing economy can secure reliable and affordable energy while accelerating the adoption of cleaner technologies and innovation.
The roundtable is part of the Consulate’s ongoing effort to create a trusted platform where industry leaders, experts, and policymakers can engage on the critical questions shaping the shared global energy future. Many more such conversations are planned, the Consulate added.
