Indian Consular Services in Australia Move to VFS Global Under New Centers

The High Commission of India in Canberra announced that, effective July 23, 2026, Indian Consular, Passport, and Visa (CPV) services in Australia will be provided by VFS Global through upgraded Indian Consular Application Centers (ICACs) in six Australian cities. 

CPV services cover passport issuance and renewal, visa processing, and other consular functions used by Indian nationals and Overseas Citizen of India cardholders living in or traveling to Australia.

The announcement follows a disruption to CPV services earlier this year, when consular, passport, and visa services across Australia were suspended from July 1, 2026, until further notice due to a legal injunction. A public notice issued at the time said any inconvenience caused was sincerely regretted.

According to the High Commission, the new centers are located in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney. The Adelaide center is at Suite 8.01, Level 8, 111 Gawler Place, Adelaide SA 5000. The Brisbane center is at Suite 0201, Level 2, 127 Creek Street, Brisbane City QLD 4000. 

The Canberra center is at Level 6, 40 Marcus Clarke Street, Canberra ACT 2601. The Melbourne center is at Ground Floor, 324 St Kilda Road, Melbourne VIC 3004. The Perth center is at Ground Floor, 23 Barrack Street, Perth WA 6000. The Sydney center is at Level 9, 22-24 Market Street, Sydney NSW 2000.

The High Commission said the newly established centers, with upgraded facilities and infrastructure, are designed to meet current service requirements and growing demand for CPV services in Australia. Service timings at all ICACs will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding public holidays and holidays declared by the High Commission of India or the Consulate General of India in the respective jurisdiction.

The High Commission noted that VFS Global is the only authorized service delivery provider for the High Commission of India in Australia for passport, visa, and other consular services.
