The critically acclaimed film ALMOST HOME, starring Kamal Khan, has been officially selected for screening at the Burbank International Film Festival and the DC South Asian Film Festival, both scheduled for September 2025.

These upcoming appearances extend the film’s impressive festival journey, which already includes notable stops at the London Festival of Cinema and the Festival of Cinema NYC.

“Set against the backdrop of post-war America, ALMOST HOME tells the gripping story of Aamir, a Muslim-American Marine who struggles with PTSD and guilt over a tragic incident during his service. As he battles night terrors, prejudice and feelings of betrayal from his own community, Aamir embarks on a journey of self-discovery, confronting the demons that haunt him,” said a press statement.

Positioned as a social impact project, ALMOST HOME seeks to highlight the often-overlooked experiences of Muslim Americans serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. The film also aims to engage the filmmaking community in raising awareness about Veterans’ health and mental well-being.
