The New York Gatka Association clinched the overall trophy at the 3rd U.S. National Gatka Championship, held on October 12, 2025, at The Sikh Center of New York Inc.
The event was organized by the Gatka Federation USA, the national governing body that promotes and standardizes Gatka—the traditional Sikh martial art—under the aegis of the World Gatka Federation (WGF).

The Kansas Gatka Association finished runners-up, while the Massachusetts Gatka Association secured third place. More than 125 Singh and Kaur participants from different states and Akharas competed in the tournament.
The championship was jointly hosted by the Gatka Federation USA and the New York Gatka Association, marking one of the largest national gatherings of Gatka players in the country.
Dignitaries attending the opening and award ceremonies included Kalvinder Singh Fresno, President of Gatka Federation USA and Chairman of WGF; Dr. Deep Singh, General Secretary of WGF; and Swaranjit Singh, councilman from Norwich, Connecticut.
Other guests included Hirdey Pal Singh, Harminder Singh Ahluwalia, Gurtej S. Dhanju, members of the World Sikh Parliament, and community leaders such as Rajinder Singh (Baba Banda Singh Bahadar Society), Sarabjit Singh Sahni (Guru Gobind Singh Sikh Study Circle), Dr. Sunil Kanwar Singh, Gagandeep Singh (AKJ), Sital Singh (Sikh Cultural Society NY), Moninder Singh (United Sikhs), Dr. Avtar S. Tinna, Satnam Singh Parhar, Sarabjit Kaur (Westchester County), and S. Daler Singh (Baba Makhan Shah Lobana Sikh Center).

Officials from the Gatka Federation USA congratulated all winners and praised volunteers for successfully hosting the championship.
They reaffirmed the Federation’s mission to promote Gatka nationwide and pledged ongoing support for all State Gatka Associations, Akharas, Academies, and players.

The tournament’s judging council included S. Lovepreet Singh Aman (Center Referee, Canada), Harbhajan Singh (NC), Karansher Singh (PA), Bhai Gagandeep Singh (AKJ), Sujan Singh, Jaskeerat Singh, Kiranjot Kaur, Jashandeep Singh, and Gurpreet Singh (NY).
Dr. Harpreet Kaur served as commentator, while Bhai Sarabjit Singh (DDT), Bhai Dalbir Singh (AKJ), Prabhdeep Singh, and Harinder Singh Nihung assisted in coordinating the referee and judging operations.
