JITO Washington DC and Embassy of India Celebrate Vishwa Navkar Mantra Divas and Mahavir Janma Kalyanak

The Jain International Trade Organization (JITO), Washington DC Chapter, in collaboration with the Embassy of India, hosted a special celebration of Vishwa Navkar Mantra Divas and Mahavir Janma Kalyanak on April 9, 2025, at the Embassy of India, in Washington DC.

The event brought together community members, spiritual leaders, and dignitaries for an inspiring evening of prayer, culture, and reflection. The program officially opened with a dance performance on the Navkar Mantra by Kavya Zaveri and Harshvi Shah, setting a devotional and uplifting tone for the evening. 

In addition to the public gathering, a closed group meeting was organized where community leaders met with Indian Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Kwatra, to discuss the Jain community’s contributions, ongoing activities, and future collaboration initiatives.

The JITO Washington DC leadership team including Sushil Jain, Bhupesh Mehta, Rahul Jain, Minal Shah, Renuka Jain, Sharad Doshi, and Gita Shah honored Ambassador Kwatra, as well as senior Embassy officials Jag Mohan and Jigar Raval, for their support in strengthening community relations and promoting Indian culture and values.

Chairman of JITO USA Washington DC, Mehta, said “It’s truly an honor to celebrate Vishwa Navkar Mantra Divas and Mahavir Janma Kalyanak here at the Embassy of India. The Jain values of non-violence, truth, and compassion are universal and guide us toward a better and more peaceful world. Through JITO, we aim to bring these principles into global initiatives and make a meaningful impact.”

Dr. Jain, chairman of JITO USA, said “JITO has always been a platform that connects values with action. We are focused on nurturing leadership, encouraging ethical entrepreneurship, and supporting business development,” adding “Our goal is to promote sustainable growth while ensuring that our business practices reflect the core Jain values of non-violence, truth, and compassion.”

The celebration paid tribute to Mahavir Janma Kalyanak, honoring Lord Mahavir’s timeless teachings of non-violence, truthfulness, and compassion. His message, centered on spiritual awakening and care for all living beings, was echoed throughout the evening’s reflections.

The program concluded with the audience collectively reciting the Navkar Mantra once again, bringing a powerful sense of unity, peace, and devotion to the occasion.
