The Federation of Jain Associations in North America (JAINA), representing 72 Jain Centers across the U.S. and Canada, will host its 23rd Biennial Convention in collaboration with the Jain Society of Metropolitan Chicago (JSMC) from July 3-6, 2025, in Chicago, Illinois.
This convention, held every two years, serves as a cornerstone for spiritual development, community engagement, and cultural exchange, bringing together an estimated 5,000 attendees from around the world. The event fosters unity among Jains and welcomes non-Jains to explore the richness of Jain heritage and traditions.
The convention organized under the theme, “Unity in Diversity: A Path to Peace” is rooted in the Jain philosophy of “Parasparopagraho Jīvānām” (Souls Render Service to One Another). The convention will emphasize inclusivity, unity, and peace within the diverse Jain community.
Activities during the convention include: a dedicated Young Jains track will empower youth with leadership and networking opportunities; 475+ members from Young Jain America (YJA) and Young Jain Professionals (YJP) will participate in insightful discussions, workshops, and mentorship sessions; and a Jain Matrimonial platform will offer young adults a space to connect and explore meaningful relationships within the community.
Jain scholars and spiritual dignitaries attending the event include: Acharya Dr. Lokesh Muni (Ahimsa Viswa Bharti, New Delhi); Saman Shrutprajna Ji (Peace of Mind Foundation, Rajkot); Dr. Devendrakeerti Bhattaraka Swamiji (Belur, Karnataka); H.H. Sadhvi Shilapiji & Sadhvi Sanghamitraji (Veerayatan); Samani Prathibha Pragya Ji, Samani Punya Pragya Ji, Samani Aarjav Pragya Ji, & Samani Swati Pragya Ji (disciples of Acharya Mahashraman).
Attendees can explore exhibitions featuring Jain literature, art, and artifacts, along with a vibrant marketplace offering ethical and sustainable products that align with Jain values.
Manish and Shailja Gandhi, Dr. Chandra Varia, the Jagdish and Renuka Mehta family, Dr. Parag and Dulari Doshi, Vasant and Charulata Shah, and Atul & Dharmi Shah invite the global Jain community to participate in this gathering of faith, culture, and community bonds.
