The Indo-Nepal Youth Association of North America (INYANA) was officially launched on August 23, 2025, in New York City, marking what its founders described as a “bold movement to unite and uplift Indian and Nepalese youth across the continent.”

The launch ceremony underscored the significance of the initiative with the presence of Tarun Chugh, National Secretary of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who performed the ribbon-cutting at the invitation of INYANA Founder Nishant Garg.

The event brought together leaders from both the Indian and Nepalese diasporas, including representatives of prominent Nepalese associations in America, further reinforcing INYANA’s mission of inclusive growth and joint celebration, according to a statement from the organization.

Alongside Garg, INYANA’s Board of Directors includes Pradip Shrestha, President of the Greater New York Nepali Chamber of Commerce, as well as Deepak Shrestha, Shailendra Shrestha, and Lakpa Wanomo Tamang.

Chugh praised the new body as a “powerful platform to build bridges and strengthen the Indo-Nepal voice in the diaspora.”

He further noted that the participation of Indian youth abroad reflects “India’s growing influence and underscores their pivotal role in the nation’s transformative journey.” He was accompanied at the launch by Amit Taneja, a BJP leader from Punjab.

Garg, an entrepreneur and recent appointee to the CTIA (RLSQ) Leadership Council, is also the founder of the Telecom Institute of New York (T.I.N.Y.) and Delta Enterprise USA. Speaking at the launch, he emphasized, “INYANA is more than an organization, it’s a movement. A movement to inspire, uplift, and unite Indo-Nepal youth to be proud of who they are and to lead with purpose on the global stage.”

According to the association, INYANA has been established to empower the next generation of Indian and Nepalese youth across the U.S. and Canada through cultural celebration, leadership development, mentorship, and collaborative community service.

“It aims to create a future where youths in America from the two neighboring countries grow up with pride in their heritage, strength in their unity, and access to opportunities that help them thrive personally, professionally, and culturally,” the statement said.

INYANA’s strategic roadmap includes creating local chapters in universities and major cities, formalizing its nonprofit status in the United States, launching national mentorship and entrepreneurship programs, building networking opportunities between professionals and students, and developing platforms for youth to engage in service, storytelling, and advocacy.
