Longtime Northern Virginia educator, and Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) parent Jon Pepper, who is contesting for the Dulles District seat on the Loudoun County School Board, has received major endorsements from Indian American Democratic leaders and local education groups.
Pepper’s campaign has been endorsed by Congressman Suhas Subramanyam, State Senator Kannan Srinivasan, and Delegates J.J. Singh, Atoosa Reaser, and David Reid, among others. Additional endorsements include the Loudoun Education Association, 314 Action Fund, and We the People for Public Education, according to a statement from Pepper’s campaign.
As a Kirkpatrick Farms resident and parent of two LCPS students, Pepper said he shares the community’s values of prioritizing high-quality education and ensuring that children are safe and comfortable in school.
“As an educator, I understand the factors needed to create outstanding public schools. They require strong community support, robust curriculum and resources, talented educators, and a willingness to put the needs of students first,” said Pepper. “When we were first starting a family, we moved to Loudoun County partly because of the excellent school system and we have been incredibly impressed with the world-class education our daughter has received.”
The statement added that Pepper he is running for the School Board to ensure all students across Loudoun County continue to have access to an excellent public education. His priorities include expanding STEM and Career and Technical Education programs, strengthening student safety by keeping drugs and violence out of schools, increasing mental health resources, and improving educator working conditions to recruit and retain top talent.
According to his campaign, Pepper brings two decades of experience in public education, serving as a secondary science teacher, coach, dean, student activities director, curriculum developer, and assistant principal across Northern Virginia. He also serves as a professional development facilitator for math and science teachers nationally and internationally, focusing on integrating online simulations into classroom learning.
Beyond his educational career, Pepper is also active in the sports community. He serves as the head referee for the Washington, D.C. division of the National Ball Hockey League and officiated the national championships at the end of the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
Pepper holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from Washington University in St. Louis, a master’s in curriculum and instruction from Virginia Tech, and an education leadership endorsement from the University of Virginia. A member of both the Virginia Education Association and National Education Association, Pepper previously served as President of the Falls Church City Education Association.
