Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand and Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar met on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and advancing priorities under the Canada-India joint roadmap.
The ministers have met regularly since September last year as part of efforts to address strained relations following the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Their latest meeting followed Anand’s visit to India on October 13-14.
Both ministers welcomed the growing momentum in the renewed Canada-India Strategic Partnership, highlighting Anand’s recent visit and other high-level engagements between the two countries over the past year.
Anand also welcomed progress toward concluding a comprehensive economic partnership agreement by the end of the year.
