The DC South Asian Arts Council Inc. (DCSAACI), in partnership with the Embassy of India, will present “SAROD QUINTET – Three Generations, One Legacy” on September 17, 2025, at the Terrace Theater of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C.

The concert will feature legendary sarod maestro Padma Vibhushan Amjad Ali Khan along with members of his renowned musical family. Taking center stage for this landmark event are three generations of India’s foremost sarod artists:

  • Amjad Ali Khan – The globally acclaimed grand master of the sarod
  • Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash – His sons and distinguished soloists in their own right
  • Zohaan and Abeer – The 13-year-old twin sons of Ayaan, and rising prodigies of the eighth generation

According to DCSAACI, the concert promises to be an extraordinary experience, transporting audiences through over two centuries of Indian classical music. “This unforgettable evening brings together three generations of legendary sarod players from India’s most celebrated musical family,” the organization noted.

The performance promises to be an “emotional and transcendent experience,” where tradition, family, and musical brilliance come together in perfect harmony, noted the organization.

“This concert is more than a performance; it’s the celebration of an unbroken lineage of music and mentorship. It is our honor to bring this incredible generational dialogue to Washington, DC,” said Executive Director of DCSAACI, Manoj Singh.
