February, the shortest month of the year, still sees a number of celebs who were born among film denizens. Here we list the most accomplished names from cinema who are either—for the astrologically-inclined—Aquarians or Pisceans.
Jackie Shroff (February 1)
A model who was first noticed by Dev Anand on a poster, he was cast as a sidekick to the villain in his Swami Dada. Subhash Ghai decided to launch him as a hero in Hero, and from then, there was no looking back. From hero for over 20 years to character artiste as well as villainous roles later, Jackie has outgrown the tag of a “wooden model turned actor” long ago. What’s more, he has been the first “serial kisser” before Emraan Hashmi, with a record number of on-screen smooches! And son Tiger has carved his own place now in cinema.
Urmila Matondkar (February 4)
From a chubby kid in Shekhar Kapoor’s Masoom to the siren of Rangeela (her debut as a heroine was in Narsimha in 1991 after the Malayalam Chanakyam in 1988), Urmila has come a long way. Ram Gopal Varma gave her a slew of movies and ‘sexy’ songs. After that, she settled in matrimony and even attempted to be a politician. She also acted in Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi and Tamil films, with hits in each, while her Hindi memorabilia included Judaai, Satya, Jungle, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, Bhoot and a notable performance in Pinjar.
Abhishek Bachchan (February 5)

Unfortunately he was always compared to his father Amitabh Bachchan. But Abhishek Bachchan has long proved to be a versatile actor different from his father. As part of the Dhoom franchise, he has always shone. His other noteworthy turns include Sharaarat, Yuva, a hilarious cameo in Salaam Namaste, Bunty Aur Babli, Dus, Guru, Dostana, Bol Bachchan, Dum, Paa and Ludo. He is also a producer and has sung in films like Bluffmaster! and also for his father in Bbuddah Hogga Tera Baap.
Jaideep Ahlawat (Feb 8)
Very few actors dazzle despite late beginnings and a career planned elsewhere (Jaideep wished to join the Indian Army but failed the crucial tests). A well-educated (Master of Arts) young man, he entered the scene thanks to Priyadarshan in Khatta Meetha and Aakrosh and shot to prominence with Gangs of Wasseypur (2012). Raazi, Jaane Jaan, Maharaj, Jewel Thief, Ikkis and series like Paatal Lok and The Broken News have shown his rare powerhouse talent.
Amrita Singh (February 9)
She debuted in a feisty romantic role in Betaab, and gained notice for her powerful turns, often laced with gray or black, later. Mard, Naam, Aaina, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Kalyug, Aurangzeb and Badla showed her consummate range. Her marriage to Saif Ali Khan ended in a divorce, but their daughter, Sara Ali Khan, has now made waves as a leading lady today.
Randhir Kapoor (February 15)
The surviving son of Raj Kapoor has carved his own stamp despite a not-very-successful yet prolific career as a leading man. Having started out in a cameo in Shree 420 (1955) as a kid alongside siblings Rishi Kapoor and Ritu, he has a unique double-debut as a hero as well as director in Kal Aaj Aur Kal (1971). Jawani Diwani and Raampur Ka Lakshman were his breakthroughs, but his later superhits were all with top stars like Vinod Khanna, Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan, while his solo leads were either modest successes or flops. Randhir moved to production with Ram Teri Ganga Maili and took over the direction of Henna after his father’s death. Husband to Babita and father to Karisma and Kareena (who has now married Saif Ali Khan), Randhir is said to be battling dementia now.
Sajid Nadiadwala (February 18)
One of the most prolific producers today, this scion of the Nadiadwala family of filmmakers also turned director with the blockbuster, Kick, in 2013. Beginning with Zulm Ki Hukumat in 1992, Sajid has been the mentor to actors Kriti Sanon, Tiger Shroff and Ahan Shetty besides being the most frequent filmmaker for Jacqueline Fernandez. Previously married to the late actress Divya Bharati, he is also a screenwriter. His films include Judwaa (and its reboot Judwaa 2), the Housefull franchise (the first to touch 5 films in Hindi cinema), Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Heyy Babyy, 2 States, Heropanti, the Baaghi franchise, Super 30, Chhichhore and the Marathi Lai Bhaari.
Sooraj R. Barjatya (February 22)

Very few filmmakers touch ‘platinum’ with their debut release. Maine Pyar Kiya, directed and scripted by Sooraj R. Barjatya for his producer-grandfather Tarachand Barjatya not only ended the decade-long dry spell for their seasoned banner of Rajshri Productions but became the biggest hit of the entire 1980s! What’s more, it was released on the penultimate Friday of 1989! His next, Hum Aapke Hain Koun!… was not just a trendsetter but, incredibly, the biggest hit of the entire 1990s. After this rare achievement, Sooraj continues his qualitative range and has recently directed Uunchai and is filming Yeh Prem Mol Liya, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari Wagh.
Sameer Anjaan (February 24)

The son of veteran poet and lyricist Anjaan, Sameer Pandey, who called himself Sameer and later Sameer Anjaan, is now in the Guinness Book of World Records for writing lyrics for the maximum number of films. Beginning in 1982 with Bekhabar, he struggled all through the 1980s and hit it big after Dil and Aashiqui in 1990. Sameer Anjaan’s hits are legion and he has formed hit teams with Nadeem-Shravan, Anand-Milind, Anu Malik, Jatin-Lalit, Himesh Reshammiya and even Pritam. His crème-de-la-crème includes Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Saajan, Deewana, Beta, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham…, Tere Naam, Ishq Vishk and Dhoom.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali (February 24)
The maverick began with choreographing the songs of 1942—A Love Story and turned director with Khamoshi—The Musical. Success came his way with Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999) followed by Devdas and Black. His hit trilogy with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone (Goliyon Ki RasLeela—RamLeela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat) was also anointed with his own music. He produced Rowdy Rathore and Gabbar…Is Back and his Love And War remains one of the most anticipated films of 2026. Bhansali has also helmed and scored Gangubai Kathiawadi and the series, Heeramandi: The Great Diamond Bazaar.
Danny Denzongpa (February 25)
When he debuted in Mere Apne (1971) in a small but distinguished role, no one could have imagined the heights he would straddle as a character artiste, mostly, but not exclusively, as the baddie in his early films. His most distinguished roles came in Chor Machaye Shor, Devataa, Love Story, Aitbaar, Agneepath, Hum, Sanam Bewafa, Khuda Gawah andKrantiveer. He made his singing debut for Johnny Walker in Yeh Gulistan Hamara and later sang for himself in a few films. What’s more, he also turned director (Phir Wohi Raat) and writer, scripting 74 episodes of the TV serial, Ajnabi.
Shahid Kapoor (February 25)

Starting out as a child model, Shahid Kapoor, also a trained dancer, and son to veterans Pankaj Kapur and Neelima Azim, made his lead debut in Ishq Vishk (2003), and soon proved his acting mettle and star-power, becoming a darling also with kids and teenagers, Among his powerful turns are Kaminey, Jab We Met, Vivah, Kabir Singh, Udta Punjaband Jersey.
