Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has appointed Purnima Voria as President of the Rajasthan Foundation’s New York (USA) Chapter. In this role, Voria will represent Rajasthanis across all 50 U.S. states, working to enhance trade, culture, and tourism initiatives between Rajasthan and the United States.

The Rajasthan Foundation operates under the Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Rajasthan, and serves as a key link between the state and Non-Resident Rajasthanis (NRRs) around the world. The Chief Minister of Rajasthan chairs the Foundation, which aims to deepen engagement with the diaspora and leverage global connections for the state’s socio-economic development.

The Government of Rajasthan has also invited members of the global Rajasthani community to participate in the first Pravasi Rajasthani Divas on December 10, 2025, at the JECC Sitapura in Jaipur. Registration is open at: https://rising.rajasthan.gov.in/pravasi-divas/registration.

Speaking on her new appointment, Voria, said the Rajasthan Foundation seeks to “preserve Rajasthani culture, strengthen ties with the diaspora, and promote the socio-economic development of Rajasthan.”

Voria noted that the Foundation’s chapters are being re-established and newly created to ensure broader representation of the diaspora, with leaders nominated from within the community to serve as “true bridges between Rajasthan and its global family.”

In coordination with National U.S. India Chamber of Commerce (NUICC) and other stakeholders, Voria and her team will focus on:

  • Fostering strong relationships with Pravasi Rajasthanis, Rajasthani organizations, and community leaders in the U.S.
  • Promoting socio-economic initiatives aligned with the Foundation’s mission.
  • Ensuring effective governance and collaboration with the Executive Committee.
  • Facilitating events and communication that strengthen Rajasthan’s engagement with its diaspora.
