There is no more need to show that Marathi movies in all genres from modern to historicals to everything in-between are going places. Ultra Media and Entertainment now present the suspense drama, Rukhwat, starring Santosh Juvekar and Priyadarshini Indalkar on December 27.

Speaking at the press conference, lead actor Santosh Juvekar and actress Priyadarshini Indalkar said, “Rukhwat is about a traditional Maharashtrian ritual that showcased the skills of the bride in the old days. Over the years, they had been missing out on weddings. It’s a small attempt to revive the traditions that are an integral part of our society—this time through a suspense thriller.”

She added, “In this film, the relationship of a couple will be seen as a bond of seven births. Rukhwatwill play an important role in telling the story of two heroes filled with suspense, thrill and traditional values.”

Presented by Sushil Kumar Agarwal and Ultra Media Entertainment Group and produced by Rabri Entertainment, it is produced by Brinda Agarwal and directed by renowned director Vikram Pradhan.

The film tells the story of a group of Archaeology students, who travel to a heritage museum, and are surprised to see an ancient Rukhwat among the idols and paintings. The Rukhwat stands out as an odd item and slowly the HE and SHE dolls in Rukhwat begin to cast spells on the visiting students. Are they good spells or evil spells?

The group tries to delve deep into the mystery surrounding Rukhwat. The mystery deepens when Amar and Mahima begin to hear the tinkling of bangles, ladies laughing and singing and noises around the dolls. The strange happenings around the dolls make Amar and Mahima believe that the dolls are trying to communicate something to them for sure. Can they decipher their call and act on it?

Ashok Samarth, Rajendra Chavan and Abhijeet Shishatkar head the supporting cast.
