India’s new Permanent Representative to the United Nations arrives in New York City

India’s new Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Parvathaneni Harish arrived on September 4, 2024, in New York City to assume charge in his new role.

He is expected to present his credentials to UN Secretary-General, António Guterres on September 9th at the United Nations.

Ambassador Harish’s appointment assumes significance as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit the United Nations later this month to participate at the Summit of the Future. At the Summit, world leaders are expected to gather and discuss various important global initiatives.
