After securing victory in Michigan’s 13th district Democratic primary, Congressman Shri Thanedar (D-Michigan) announced his commitment to helping Democratic Presidential nominee, Kamala Harris and her running mate Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, win the key state in the upcoming Presidential election.
In a statement, Rep. Thanedar said, “I want to thank my opponents for running and participating in the democratic process. I thank US House Democratic Leadership for endorsing me, as well as the unions and groups that supported my campaign. Now, I’m looking forward to helping Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz win Michigan so we can do even more for my constituents.”
Thanking voters in the 13th District for his re-election in the primary, Rep. Thanedar credited his victory “to his record of delivering strong constituent services, standing up for working families, fighting for unions, and always fighting for reproductive freedom.”
Rep. Thanedar who served as the ranking member of the Small Business and Homeland Security subcommittees and sponsored over 520 bills in the US Congress noted, “Everywhere I go, constituents always come up to me and tell me how my office helped them get their tax returns, sort out their VA benefits, get in touch with FEMA, etc,” while praising his team’s effort in his re-election and their effectiveness in serving the constituents.
“I’m also proud of the money we were able to bring back to the district. We were able to get $342 million for infrastructure projects and $15 million for community projects throughout the district for workforce development, infrastructure upgrades, surviving extreme weather events, and more,” he further added. “I’m especially thankful that I was able to bring federal dollars to municipalities that haven’t received federal money in decades.”
Dr. Prasanth Reddy wins Republican primary from 3rd District in Kansas
“Over the last year, I’ve attended hundreds of events in this district, met thousands of voters, and heard the same message time and time again: Kansans are fed up with what’s happening in Congress,” Dr. Reddy, a Republican candidate, said adding that voters know the incumbent Democratic Congresswoman from the 3rd District, Sharice Davids is “part of the problem.”
“We can’t secure the American Dream with two more years of Sharice Davids toeing the party line in Congress,” he added noting voters in Kansas has delivered a message that they are ready for new leadership. “I’m a cancer physician, a military officer, and an immigrant — not a politician. I’m running for Congress now to be an independent voice for this district, and to secure the American Dream. We can’t secure the American Dream if families are struggling to make ends meet, if our border is open, and if our country is weak around the world.”
Usha Reddi wins Democratic primary from 22nd District in Kansas
Kansas State Senator, Reddi, is seeking re-election to the State Senate, won her Democratic primary from 22nd District.
