India has once again secured a place on the “Honor Roll,” of the United Nations (UN), for fulfilling its regular budget assessment on time and in full. This recognition highlights India’s role as a responsible and committed member of the global organization.

According to the Permanent Mission of India (PMI) to the UN, in New York, the Honor Roll features countries that meet their financial obligations within 30 days of receiving their payment notice, as mandated by Financial Regulation 3.5 of the UN.

“The UN General Assembly approves UN’s Regular Budget in December each year. Each Member State is assessed based on the Scale of Assessment approved by the General Assembly, and corresponding payment notes are issued by the UN in early January,” the PMI stated.

India’s consistent presence on the UN Honor Roll underscores its “unwavering support for the principles and purposes,” of the UN Charter. By ensuring financial stability and operational efficiency, India reinforces its commitment to global governance and international cooperation, the PMI added.
